Walnut is the one cabinet wood whose color is never quite fixed, and this pull is chosen to move with it rather than sit still against it.
Across a day, walnut grain travels between warm amber and a cooler, grounded brown as the sun angle and fixture mix change — a panel that glows at noon settles darker by dusk under the very same lights. A polished metal would stay locked at one brightness through all of that and slowly fall out of step with the wood. Brushed gold does the opposite: its cross-grain texture scatters light instead of mirroring it, so the metal shifts warmth in the same direction as the timber. On a tall walnut door the two surfaces read as one material decision that holds together through every lighting state the room passes through.
