The geometry matters: a 7.5" reflective bar at counter height intercepts ceiling and window light from above and redirects it laterally into the room. The hardware becomes a passive light fixture — not a metaphor, a function.
Solid brass mechanically polished to mirror grade, lacquer-sealed against the gradual oxidation that breaks unlacquered polished brass surfaces within 18 to 24 months of kitchen exposure. At this scale on a dark navy base, the polished face needs to hold its specular character to perform its light-return function — and the lacquer is what keeps that performance stable for years.
