The Span is the 12.5" brushed brass bar pull — the island-exclusive size, oversized for perimeter base cabinets and proportioned for the wide island drawer fronts that anchor an open-plan kitchen. At 320mm hole centers, this is the longest size in the ARCHANDLES foundation and the only size designed exclusively for kitchen island applications.
A 36"-and-wider island drawer front presents a cabinet face that conventional perimeter-scale hardware cannot resolve. A 10" pull on a 36" drawer leaves the cabinet face under-articulated; the eye reads excess panel surface beyond the hardware. At 12.5", the bar runs through the proportional center of the cabinet face, and the drawer reads as one composed unit. The same size handles integrated appliance panels — refrigerator drawers, dishwasher fronts, beverage cooler panels — that increasingly appear on island runs.
Solid brass alloy across the full 12.5" span. At this length the structural rigidity matters: a hollow-construction pull at this scale flexes under center-grip load within a few years; solid brass holds. No chrome underlayer, no lacquer over-coat. The unlacquered surface develops natural patina with daily kitchen use — a hardware element that lives the kitchen's history into its surface across years of use.
