Returns & Refunds
We want you to be confident in every Archandles piece you bring home. If something isn't right, we'll work with you to make it right.
Return window
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return. Requests submitted after 30 days cannot be accepted, except in cases of damage or defect (see below).
How to start a return
To start a return, please email us at hello@archandles.com within 30 days of delivery, including:
- Your order number
- The item(s) you'd like to return
- The reason for return
- Photos of the item(s) in their current condition
Our team will review your request and reply within one business day. If your return is approved, we'll send you a Return Authorization (RA) number along with the correct return shipping address and packing instructions.
Important: Returns sent without an RA number, or shipped to an address other than the one we provide, cannot be processed and will not be eligible for refund. We use multiple fulfillment locations, and the correct return address depends on which collection your item belongs to — this is why we ask you to wait for our reply before shipping anything back.
Item condition requirements
To be eligible for return, items must be:
- Unused and uninstalled — any item that has been mounted, drilled, or test-fitted cannot be returned
- In original packaging with all original protective wrapping intact
- Complete — including all included hardware (screws, washers, mounting plates, instruction cards) in the original quantities
- Free of post-delivery damage — no scratches, dents, finish wear, or fingerprints on uncoated brass
We inspect returned items upon arrival. Items that do not meet these conditions may be refused, returned to you at your expense, or refunded only partially.
Non-returnable items
The following are final sale and cannot be returned:
- Custom finishes or made-to-order pieces (any item marked "Made to order" at checkout)
- Items from the Sample Program (finish samples, swatch kits)
- Bulk trade orders of 50+ units of the same SKU — we recommend ordering samples before placing bulk orders
- Gift cards
- Items purchased during clearly marked "Final Sale" or "Last Stock" promotions
Damaged or defective items
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, please email hello@archandles.com within 7 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- Clear photos of the damage or defect
- Photos of the original packaging (if damaged in transit)
We will replace the item at no cost to you, or issue a full refund including original shipping. Damaged and defective items are not subject to restocking fees or return shipping charges.
Return shipping
Change of mind or not as expected: Customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend a tracked and insured shipping service — items lost in return transit are not eligible for refund.
Damaged, defective, or wrong item shipped: Archandles covers all return shipping costs. We will email you a prepaid shipping label.
Free shipping orders: If your order qualified for free shipping over $150 and your return brings the remaining order value below $150, the original outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. The deducted amount will be shown on your refund confirmation.
Restocking fee
A 15% restocking fee applies to non-defective returns. This covers inspection, repackaging to retail standard, and finish-sample reorder costs.
The restocking fee does not apply to:
- Damaged or defective items
- Items shipped in error by Archandles
- Exchanges for a different finish, size, or SKU of equal or greater value
The fee is deducted from your refund and shown clearly on your refund confirmation email.
Refund timeline and method
Once your return arrives at our facility, we will:
- Inspect the item within 2 business days
- Email you a refund confirmation if the return is approved
- Issue your refund to the original payment method within 8–10 business days of approval
Depending on your bank or card issuer, the refund may take an additional 3–5 business days to appear in your account. Refunds cannot be issued to a different card, account, or person than the one used for the original purchase.
Exchanges
The fastest way to exchange an item is:
- Email hello@archandles.com to start a return for the original item
- Place a new order for the replacement item
This way you receive your replacement as soon as it ships, rather than waiting for us to process your return first. The refund for the original item is issued once the return arrives and is approved.
If you'd prefer a direct exchange — slower, but with no upfront second charge — let us know in your return request email and we'll arrange it.
Order cancellations
Orders can be cancelled at no cost before they ship. Once an order is in transit, it must go through the standard return process described above.
To cancel, email hello@archandles.com as soon as possible with your order number. Most orders ship within 1–2 business days, so cancellation may not always be possible — please contact us right away if you change your mind.
International returns (Australia)
Customers outside the United States follow the same return process above, with these additional notes:
- Email hello@archandles.com for the regional return address — do not ship returns to our US warehouse
- Customers are responsible for return shipping, customs paperwork, and any duties on the return shipment
- Refunds are issued in the currency of the original purchase
- Original shipping costs and any import duties paid on the outbound order are non-refundable
Trade Program returns
Trade Program members follow the same policy above with these adjustments:
- The restocking fee is waived for trade returns of 10 units or fewer per Return Authorization
- Bulk returns (10+ units of a single SKU) require approval from the trade team and may be subject to a 20% restocking fee
- Trade samples are non-returnable, but their cost is credited toward the first qualifying trade order
